It seems like thing are happening hot and heavy up at Team Z Motorsports in Michigan – not a week goes by where we don’t see them releasing new products for our favorite Mustangs, and this week is no exception. The team is now offering what you could consider a one-stop-shopping experience if you’re looking for stock-location rear suspension parts with their Grip Series #1 suspension system.
Included in the package is Team Z’s proven Strip Series #1 suspension package, a pair of custom-valved stock-location double-adjustable shocks, and their new stock location rear drag springs, which we detailed in an earlier article. The Strip Series #1 suspension kit offers a number of features that are designed to hustle a stock-suspension ’79-’04 Mustang down the quarter-mile with quick 60-foot times and repeatable performances.
The Strip Series #1 package is based around Team Z’s single-adjustable rod-end chromoly lower control arms, a pair of double-adjustable rod-end upper arms, and their bronze-bushed anti-roll bar. The part that makes the Strip Series #1 kit shine is the set of upper-arm relocation brackets, which corrects the flaws in the stock suspension geometry, and moves the instant center to the proper position to improve traction.
Adding to the Strip Series #1 kit to make up the Grip Series kit are a pair of custom-valved shocks that have been produced by Strange Engineering to Team Z’s proprietary specifications, which have been proven out through over a decade of suspension tuning and data acquisition. And the coil springs bring it all together, permitting the car to sit at the proper ride height and transfer weight in the most effective manner to provide optimum performance.
They are also offering the Xtreme Street Beast #1 kit with their Street Beast line of urethane-bushed control arms for those customers who require street manners to be at the forefront of their car’s performance.
“These kits give the Mustang owner an opportunity to buy a complete package of parts that can be bolted on in one shot, are guaranteed to fit, and proven to perform. We’ve engineered all of the parts to work with one another, and we’re proud to be able to offer these to everyone,” says Dave Zimmerman, Team Z’s wizard of grip.
The Grip Series #1 kit and the Xtreme Street Beast #1 kit are both available for $1,489 by placing an order on the company’s website or by giving them a call. For more information about Team Z’s extensive line of suspension and chassis products, check out their website.
