If your only exposure to “money races” is via a certain television show, you might not know that a lot of serious hustlers save their true kung fu for the dragstrip. Sure, you don’t have the fun and excitement of getting arrested by the cops, or crashing your expensive race car into a ditch, but there are still good times to be had and money to be won.
In this case, we see a pair of Chevys square off at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland, with $500 each at stake for this grudge match. In the near lane, the 347fairless 4th gen Camaro is packing 602 cubic inches and a 118mm turbo, while the Race Proven Motorsports Corvette is motivated by a ProCharger F1-X blower strapped to an LSX.
Both cars run hot, straight, and true, and though we won’t ruin the surprise by telling you who wins, it’s definitely a close matchup. Best of all, we get to enjoy both the view from the starting line as well as an on-board point of view shot from the Camaro. Props to our buddy Jesse Kleiber for bringing us the video – check out his BigKleib34 YouTube channel for a lot more racing action.
We love to see cars like this in their natural environment, the race track. Kudos to both racers for keeping it legal and representing the best of sportsman drag racing.
