Remember that immaculate 1971 Chevrolet Caprice donk, built by In And Out Customs, with a turbocharged LS2 that we did a story on last year? It’s back, and it happens to scream down the eighth-mile on those 28-inch Forgiato wheels.
We were actually pretty excited to find this video because it’s doing something besides sitting in a garage or laying rubber. Burnouts are all well and good, but we wanted to see how fast this thing really is, and we got our wish. Unfortunately, there was no time posted because the run was “for fun” more than anything else. Although the owner has a parachute on the back of “Z06 Donk,” we can’t find any other videos with quarter or eighth-mile times. Watching a heavy Caprice with bulky 28-inch wheels and 1000+ horsepower on the dragstrip is quite the sight to see, though.
For those not up to date on this donk build, it has an all-aluminum built LS2 paired with a huge 80-mm turbocharger. Power makes its way to the 28 x 12-inch Forgiato rear wheels via a built T56 with a twin-disc carbon fiber clutch that mates to the custom 3-inch chromoly driveshaft, which turns the gears in the Ford 9-inch rearend. Other components that contribute to the “Z06 Donk” name include C6 Z06 front and rear brakes, C6 Z06 dash, gauge cluster, door panels, and steering wheel. The front seats are actually from an Acura TL.
We enjoyed seeing this rolling mass of power make a pass down the strip; all we need now are some timeslips. For more videos of this beast, check out bat96chevy‘s YouTube channel.
