Werremeyer Joins Promedia As New Event Series Technical Coordinator

Last week, Promedia took a major step toward its goal of providing an even greater competitive landscape in its three racing series by announcing the addition of Dave Werremeyer to its event staff as the new Technical and Communications Director for the NMRA, NMCA, and NMCA WEST series. Werremeyer joins Promedia after a lengthy tenure at ProCharger, where he served as the Motorsports Operations Coordinator for eight years and was a regular face at drag racing events across the country.

“Hiring a guy like Dave W. is an investment in our future,” said Charlie Harmon, president of ProMedia Events. “We have a commitment to building and maintaining a competitive, balanced and fair racing programs across all of our racing divisions; adding Dave to the full-time staff, with his advanced technical background, will offer a fresh and qualified perspective,” Harmon stated.  “Dave has done an awesome job helping build a competitive program at ProCharger and we are elated to add him to the ProMedia team. His experience, and exceptional knowledge of our market, along with his vision and passion will combine to play a major role in maintaining a fair playing field for all three of our racing series,” Harmon concluded.

Werremeyer, who will begin his new position at Promedia on December 24th, exclaimed, “I have dealt with a lot of racing organizations over the years, and because of that I’m familiar with several different sets of rules, some of which are very limiting, while others are wide open. It was my job to know about all the combinations and power adders so I could work with the engineering staff at ProCharger and the racers.  From this we designed and implemented our supercharger systems for a wide variety of racing applications, which would conform to the rules and hopefully win. In order to do that, however, I needed to know what the other guys were running. I’m looking forward to putting that knowledge to work with the NMRA, NMCA, and NMCA WEST in the upcoming years,” Werremeyer added.

Although Werremeyer has spent the better part of the last decade working with one of the leading supercharger brands in the racing industry, his roots lie in naturally aspirated drag racing. “I love the sound a high-revving car running on motor alone makes. I have always respected the guys who build and race cars in any naturally-aspirated class,” he said. Werremeyer is also a Chrysler fan and has done his share of racing in the heads-up and bracket racing world.

“This has been long time coming for ProMedia,” Harmon added. “Dave’s knowledge of the finite details of different combinations, will really help us as we move forward with our rules packages, bringing forward a much needed dynamic to all three of our series, benefiting the organization long term,” Harmon concluded.
