LSX Magazine is going all-in on its latest project – 899. With the help of some of the coolest cats (our friends), we’re attempting to make at least 899 horsepower to the rear wheels and go 8.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, all in a 9-day build with our 1969 Camaro. We started with a ’69 Camaro rolling chassis and installed the powertrain, wiring, plumbing, suspension, wheels, and tires before strapping it to the dyno to tune this animal and see if we hit our horsepower mark. Then we’re taking it to the track to try and accomplish our goal of 8.99 seconds. It’s one and done for our team – and we’ll bring you all the highs and lows along the way.
Follow along as we take you inside the build from start to finish as our editors work with our partner shop (Big 3 Racing) to turn this beauty into a beast. We’re dropping content daily for a full month: long-form videos on YouTube, short-form videos on social media, build articles on LSXmag.com, Street Muscle, Chevy Hardcore, and Dragzine. We are showing off the 899 Camaro at LS Fest East on September 8-10, and finally, we’ll have a live Q&A session with our editors and shop following the build and race where the readers can ask any question they want.
