Fresh off an exciting event in Bristol just two weeks ago, the stars of the American Drag Racing League head to the Northeast and the scenic Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa. for the third event of the season – the Northeast Drags II. Records fell last spring when the ADRL made its first visit to Maple Grove, and this year’s rendition is expected to be a can’t-miss affair once again. Mike Castellana and crew talk before the first round. Mike ran the quickest ADRL Pro Mod pass at 3.845 seconds at 194 + MPH. The track seems to be in great shape and big things may yet to come.
In the 3rd pair of Pro Modified saw Raymond Commisso get out of shape past the 200 foot mark, cross lanes and impact the left retaining wall. Raymond actually opened the wall with the impact, resulting in a sudden fire that lasted all of 2 seconds, and then the car spun off the wall. Commisso was out of the car immediately and is OK. After an hour delay, we are now back underway at Maple Grove. Stay tuned for more details.

Chuck Ulsch took the No. 1 spot in Extreme 10.5 with a run of 3.903 at 200.02 MPH during round one of qualifying.

Todd Moyer is near the finish line and carries the front wheels. Moyer was off the gas and then got back on it to run 192.00 mph and the provisonal No. 5 spot with six cars in Extreme 10.5 making the call.

John Stanley had a quick fire at the end of his run during the fist round of qualifying and oiled the track.

Jason Scruggs claimed the provisional pole with a pass of 3.707 at 203.74 MPH with his 1963 Corvette in Pro Extreme.

Shannon Jenkins is ready to slip on his helmet for the second round of qualifying. He earned the No. 11 spot in the field.

Pat Musi and Rickie Smith purge their nitrous systems before Q2. Musi is currently No.3 and Smith sits No. 7 in the Pro Mod field.

Super Car Showdown No. 1 has Chris Holbrook's 2012 Cobra Jet Mustang at 5.827 at 118 MPH. Pictured in the 2011 Challenger is Leonard Mattingly in the No. 4 spot in the four-car field.

Stan Allen's black Camaro took the top spot in Pro Nitrous with a 3.911/192.74 pass, In the far lane is Tommy Franklin, who is working on a setup after a four year absence from a bad crash at MIR.

Frankie Taylor made the first full run of the season in Q2 and led Pro Extreme with his 3.653/207.85 The reason for the yellow nose is due to the cutout to fit the blower.

Todd Hoerner, who became the first EFI car to qualify in Extreme Pro Stock in Bristol, sits solidly in the sixth spot with a nice 4.112.
Qualifying Orders After Session #2
Friday qualifying ended after Top Sportsman finished their 3rd session and Pro Mod completed one pair due to rain. Therefore, the Pro Mod session won’t count, as the class did not complete the session. Jeff Naiser was temporarily #1, but the run won’t count. All classes will get their final qaulifying round Saturday starting at noon. We will follow a normal Saturday schedule.
