Racers from all across the country have converged on the Gateway Motorsports Park just outside St. Louis for the third running of the Street Car Super Nationals: Anarchy at the Arch. Ten different eliminators will be contested, including Outlaw Pro Mod, Radial vs Outlaw 10.5, 275 Drag Radial, and many other heads-up and index classes.

John Stanley may need to check his fillings after this violent tire shake in the Stanley & Weiss Racing Cadillac in the opening round of Outlaw Pro Mod qualifying. Brandon Lewis was the leader in the clubhouse in the class after the first session with his 3.86, but he’ll have plenty of competition from the likes of Frankie Taylor and Jason Scruggs as qualifying continues later tonight.
Kevin Fiscus is pulling double duty this weekend, wheeling his familiar Mustang in the Pro Nitrous vs Pro Boost class, along with Andrew Alepa's spectacular C7 Corvette in Radial vs The World. Fiscus sits atop the field in the Pro Mod car with a 3.85 and third in the radial car with a 4.12.

Los Angeles, California native Terry Barkley has transitioned from radial tire racing to Pro Mod, teaming with Carl Stevens, Jr. to wheel what is still the fastest door car to ever traverse the 1/8-mile. Barkley got out near the centerline in the opening session and had to lift.
Mark Micke's crew was understandably ecstatic after he ripped off a 4.00 to assume the pole in Radial vs The World, but it was short-lived, as Marty Stinnett (right) cranked off a 3.97 at 186 mph to move the Missouri native down a rung.

Frankie Taylor is piloting a gorgeous new ’69 Camaro owned by California’s Jay Diedrich and built by Larry Jeffers. Taylor struck the tires early in his first qualifying hit and had to lit off the (very) loud pedal.

Cecil Whitaker parked his Induction Solutions nitrous-fed ’99 Camaro atop the 275 Radial field in the opening session with a 4.57. Earl Stanley, who almost didn’t get to make a run when his car lost fire in the beams, rolled to a 4.63 to take over second.

NHRA Pro Mod regular Jim Whiteley is here testing his stunning Chevelle for next weekend’s U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.
