1-Stop Automotive True Street was contested this morning with Randy Seward earning the class win with an 8.37 average and Alex Corella the runner up. Danny Rogers scored the 9.0 win with a 9.41 average in his ‘Mental Health” S-10. Seward has been working in New Zealand updating the American embassy as a mechanical engineer. The first time True Street class had a handful of cars and heat soak played a factor in his performance with little time to cool between runs. Randy uses Haltech Elite Engine Management, Pony Express, Mickey Thompson Tires and TRZ Motorsports suspension.

Alex Corella scored a 9.0 average to earn a runner up finish, forgetting to turn off the burn out RPM limiter on his last run and hurting his average after two solid passes in the 8.40’s. Alex Hails from Palm Beach, Florida and runs out of Lujan Motorsports shop with a small block Ford fed by an 83 MM Bullseye turbo with Errol from TPS as the tuner. Alex uses Bear Brakes and UPR Suspension on his Mustang.

Danny Rogers did great his first time running here at the World Street Nationals scoring a win in the 9.0 class of 1-Stop Automotive True Street with a 9.41 average.

Kevin MacNicol runs in NHRA Super Street regularly and recently tried his hand at some outlaw style index racing at the ODRC and again this weekend here in Orlando where he is entered in the Prater Radiator 10.0 Index class. MacNicol has run NHRA in Stock Eliminator with this car for about ten years before taking it to Carty Race Cars for a back half chassis update to compete in the Super Street 10.90 Index. He runs a Pontiac 467 cubic inch engine machined by Mike at Competition Motorsports in Sarasota, Florida with Kevin doing the assembly himself.

Randy Weatherford leads the Extreme Concrete Pro Mod field with a 3.646 at 205 MPH in his Procharger centrifugal supercharged Camaro. Randy switched from a nitrous combination over the summer and debuted the new set up and car at the Shakedown at VMP landing at number three qualifier. Since then the team has several top qualifier positions at the PDRA in Pro Boost. The new Pro Line Racing engine is performing well for the team and cutting the crew’s work effort and Mr. Weatherford’s piston bill. He set the PDRA class record in Virginia at the finals with a 3.597 at 209 MPH and ran a 3.65 in testing here this week. The car was purchased partially completed out of California in March and underwent the transformation from twin turbos to the supercharger combination over several months by Racecraft Inc and PLR.

Round Two Qualifying Results

“Axeman” Marcus Birt has been at the top level of performance in Radial vs the World recently and this weekend is no exception as he leads qualifying in the OWSN Duck X Productions RVW this weekend with a record setting 3.55 at 207 MPH from the second session of qualifying today. On that run he scored a .909 60′ and amazingly in the final session he nabbed an .899 60 but did not improve on his ET showing there is more there for the taking in the right conditions.

“It felt real good..” Birt told us after the round. “Stevie told me if it takes what I’m putting on it, hang on it’s gonna haul butt. I knew it was gonna run, it was on a pass and when I got down there and saw the 60′ I was saying Lord have mercy. They pretty much pick and say what it’s gonna run and it runs the number.” Steve Jackson and Jeffrey Barker, Craig Amerson and Eddie Wilson keep the engine together and do the transmissions with Jeffrey and Stevie making the tuning decisions. The car is gets power from a Pat Musi engine backed by a M&M Transmission and Chance converter.

Mo Hall, pictured at left brought home the Billet Atomizer Injectors Outlaw 10.5 Championship for 2019 with his COrvette using a Fulton engine with Brandon Switzer nitrous system. The car was built by Harry at HFR Fabrication and was front halfed to prepare for the season and make the car work better on the radial tire, which most of the competitors have switched over to. Hall also gets some help on the engine maintenance and upgrades from Eric and Gil at Davis Race Engines. ” We held the record for the majority of the year with but Carinci took it from us at the Shakedown at VMP and we are going to look to take that back if we can this weekend.” Mo told us. “We had a really killer season, we won the Yellow Bullet Nats and some other races along the way so we had a really good year. Harry did the front half in thirty days and we went to Galot with it, qualified number one and earned the win there and never really looked back.” The car features a Motec M150 and is the first M150 unit Brandon installed on a nitrous car, it has coil on plug ignition and controls the whole car and the nitrous and data logging. ” I have to thank all the folks involved and my crew, Brandon, Steve and Joel and eveyone who helps us do the things we do.” – Mo Hall

Fabio Costa (pictured left) scored the top qualifier position in Extreme Concrete Pro Mod today with a 3.642 at 217 representing Brazil, Pro Line Racing and Fuel Tech. The team was one and two with partner Roderjan Busato (at right) unable to improve and falling to fourth in the final session but still a fantastic showing for the team based out of Curitiba, Brazil. Costa has raced in Brazil for ten years and int he US for two years with a very limited schedule here in America after purchasing the car from Pro Line. 3.64 is a personal best with the car. ” I never thought I could hold on to top qualifier here with the other racers who race nearly every weekend.” Fabio told us. It’s his first time racing here this year after racing here in Orlando last year. They have been here since Tuesday testing with both cars though the Roderjan has had a very limited schedule in the states for 2019, 2020 may see some limited racing with the PDRA in Pro Boost. ” I have to thank all the Fuel Tech team and Pro Line Team, and Jamie Miller for making this happen and all my team and all teh guys here working onthe cars. I can’t belive this has happend. I am very proud of my team, they are all from Brazil. We bring all the same team from Brazil here to work on the cars and it’s great to be here racing int he states.” – Fabio Costa

Brian Keep scored top qualifier in TRZ Ultra Street running a 4.63 at 150 in the final session to after 4.65 earlier in the day.

Kirt Snaders has “Tina” runnign well this weekend landing second after two session with a 4.66 at 152 MPH and working the tire hard. Bill Gregan (far lane) managed a 4.92 at 140 today making a solid run with his new Procharger centrifugal supercharged combo.

Chris Holdorf leads the Performance Wekding Pro 632 class after two sessions with a 4.245 at 166, followed by Johnny Pluchino (4.246) and team mate Walter Lannigan Jr 4.279. It was a struggle for some today as the track was fairly tight and it took just the right set up to be successful in getting a solid pass.
