“We were so wrapped up in the moment with the car after struggling all weekend in Bradenton we didn't even realize about the first side by side three second pass down at Bradenton, that was like the cake topper.” - Scott King. The KTR crew rolled out with a 3.97 off the trailer on Tuesday.

Bubba Stanton and Jason Hutcheson are in the house for Radial Vs the World action sporting a TRE 903 Chevy in this 63 Vette. The large purse for this event is bringing racers out of the woodwork for a shot at the prize. Stanton had yet to make a pass when I spoke with him this morning.

Actually the car was built a couple years back starting out as a piece from Rick Jones with Wolfe Racecraft doing the front half it just never made it out. It's sporting a Hans Fuestel engine with Precision 102 mm turbos feeding the boost with Pro EFI engine management and an M&M Transmission.

Justin Shearer aka Big Chief from Discovery Channel's Street Outlaws is here this weekend competing in Radial vs the World with Shawn Ellington and the Murder Nova. Crew member Justin McDaniel got us caught up on the Midwest Streetcars team with Justin Shearer stopping off at engine builders Butler Performance for some repairs on the way down and went through the engine with fresh bearing again last night. Both crews are running on minimal sleep so far this week. Ellington made a pass this afternoon and lifted after the car started to power wheelie near the 330' so it looks like they are getting a handle on the small radial tire today.

Jason Michalak ran a 4.08 today on a test run just to get down the track. The team is going to change the rods and go through their normal maintenance today and should be good for the rest of the weekend pending unforeseen circumstances. It's a near clone of Michalak's car with both engines built and maintained by Frankie Taylor.

We have had an eventful and protracted round two of RVW qualifying. Here Keith Haney was the next car down after Mills but shook the tires after a .98 60'. The car moved left and scraped the wall. Word is the damage is mostly all cosmetic and the team is working hard to make repairs.

Killin Time Racing was trying some new things out with Hyde that didn't work out so they will be swapping back to their “trusted and can't be busted hot rod motor.” according to Stevie Fast. Smart money says Sitton will improve.
