Nashville Street Outlaws: King of Cashville

Everything from Power Wheels with wheelie bars, to ’37 coupes lined the pits this weekend to prove they had what it takes to park it in the winner’s circle at Fitzgerald Motorsports Park during the Nashville Street Outlaws event.

One of the most rewarding parts of being involved in this industry is watching the next generation of racers light up with excitement when the light drops. Nashville Street Outlaws does an incredible job encouraging that spark through its Power Wheels class, giving young drivers a chance to feel the thrill of competition in their own way. This weekend, Kason stole the show, riding his wheelie all the way to the winner’s circle. Moments like these remind us why it’s so important to invest in the next generation.

Devin Grace’s ’36 Ford 5-Window Coupe wasn’t just a head-turning ride, it also had an undeniable presence on the strip. “The Witch Doctor” backed up its wicked appearance with an equally wicked performance and drove it straight to the winner’s circle, claiming the Small Tire victory.

Jason Hays’ 1952 Ford single cab wasn’t just another truck in the pits; it was a living piece of history that received a modern heart transplant under the hood. Watching it storm down the track and claim the Tailgate class victory was nothing short of moving. There is a rare kind of magic in seeing a machine with those timeless body lines proving it was still a force to be reckoned with against the newer generation of machines. With a vintage vibe on the outside and modern power tucked right under the hood, “The Old Man” was a reminder that they just don’t make them like they used to.

Josh Poore’s ’93 Fox Body Mustang was more than just another car at the track. It reflected hard work, late nights, and grit. The Run What You Brung class is always interesting, and racers never know what they’ll see in the lane next to them. It is a test of both the machines, and the drivers that pilot them. Josh rose to the occasion and made it look easy. When the smoke cleared and the win light came on, he didn’t just take home a win, he carried the pride of knowing that hard work pays off. His Fox Body proved that even a class built to be a wildcard, determination, and heart can lead you straight to victory.

Drew Edwards was a prime example of making the most of what you have and leaving it all on the track. He wheeled his Mustang to winner’s circle for the Budget Builder class. Brandon Stephens closed out the weekend on a high note, wheeling his F-body Camaro to victory in the Hard Tire class.

From the youngest racers in Power Wheels to the seasoned veterans of the sport battling it out in the headline classes, this weekend was an amazing tribute to why grassroots racing is so important to this community. Victories were earned, memories were made, and the passion for racing rang louder than an engine on the chip. If this event proved anything, it’s that the future of the sport is in good hands, and the itch to compete and be the best will never fade.
