Easy Hose Assembly And Perfectly Sealed Hard Lines With Koul Tools

If you have ever had the pleasure of assembling AN and push lock hoses, or flaring your own hard lines, you’re probably familiar with fittings that just won’t seal and imperfect hard line flares shooting a stream of fluid all over your clothes.

Luckily, Dick Raczuk of Koul Tools is a true hot rod enthusiast, and has first hand experience with just how frustrating these problems can be. So, as a result of Raczuk’s efforts to find an easier way to plumb his personal Graham Hollywood and Packard Coupe – the Koul Tools brand was created. Today, they offer tools to assist with everything from AN hose assembly to hard line flare lapping.

Lapping Your Flares

When flaring hard lines, you’ll always end up with a few imperfections on the face of the flare which will leak fluid in most conditions. Raczuk’s solution to this problem is the Koul Tools series of Flare Lapping Tools.

Not only does this tool give you perfect 37 degree and 45 degree flares on your new tubing, it can also be used to repair leaky connections on existing hard lines without having to completely remove it from the vehicle. Using their flare lapping tool will guarantee your flares will always come out perfect and leak free, keeping your fluids where they should be and getting you out on the track or on the streets much faster than if you were stuck doing it all manually.

Assembling Press On Hoses With Ease

Koul Tools EZ-ON Hose Press takes the battle out of having to assemble everything from 1/4 inch to one inch (-4AN to -16AN) press on hoses, and can be done literally in seconds.

If you’ve ever assembled a press on hose fitting, you know the fight that these hoses can put up when trying to slip the hose over the barb. With the EZ-ON Hose Press, you never have to worry about heating up hoses using hot water or a heat gun and rushing to slip the hose on, if it even helped.

The hose press is made using investment cast steel and weighs 14 pounds, making this a very durable shop tool. It features soft jaws on one end to hold anodized fittings in place without damaging the finish, and two different sized jaws for various diameter hoses that sit on a travelling carriage on the other end, and even comes in a nice carrying case.

When setting up the hose press, first set your fitting securely in the soft jaws, then once you have the proper jaw size for the hose you’re assembling you can insert the hose into the jaws, making sure that there is just slightly more hose than is needed to fully slip over the barb. Then it’s as easy as taking an impact or ratchet and socket and tightening the rod and effortlessly force the hose over the barb.
