Head to any major Mustang event and you’ll likely find a large number of cars displaying the Mod Motor Mustangs banner on the rear windows, hood, front bumper or doors. For many Mustang owners rockin’ this decal is one of the highest honors that their modular-powered car can receive. It’s often a reflection of the impact the car and owner have had on the racing community and other late model Ford enthusiasts.
MMM has become the social media source for modular fans on Facebook and Instagram, leading to more than 400,000 likes and followers. It is with this support they decided to produce what is currently the world’s only modular Mustang exclusive event, the ModNationals presented by Accufab.
“When I built the brand of Mod Motor Mustangs, it was to give the modular guys a voice on social media,” states Justin Young of Mod Motor Mustangs. “I knew that my community had a lack of recognition in comparison to the LS crowd, and thus I set out to showcase the baddest, fastest modulars in the world.
“The next evolution of Mod Motor Mustangs led me to create ModNationals, a race to see who has the fastest modular-powered cars in their respective classes,” he continued. “Our goal is to build this race to mirror the success of LS Fest and other events like it, but mostly to showcase what our community has to offer.”
Memphis International Raceway in Millington, Tennessee will serve as the proving grounds Sept 2-4, 2016. The event will feature a wide rage of classes from Outlaw 4v, Coyote Stock, and 2v versus 3v class, to an Open Comp bracket class.
This race will also host a Mod Motor versus LS class that will pit the fastest, single power adder modulars against the fastest cars the LS community has to offer. The intention is to prove modulars can hang with, and beat, the fastest LS cars in the country with the same modifications.
ModNationals is designed to be the ultimate destination for the modular Mustang enthusiast, those who want to see some of the fastest and best looking Mustangs in the world. Even if you’re not a racer, the event has a lot to offer, including a large car show, mobile chassis dyno, and event midway with displays from Aerospace Components, UPR, AEM, and Accufab, among many others.
Whether you race a modular powered Mustang, or just enjoy watching high-powered Fords do their thing on the strip, make sure you check out everything the ModNationals has to offer, including event schedules, and lodging here.
