The NHRA’s O’Reilly SpringNationals headlined a busy weekend of racing that included the IHRA’s Palm Beach Nitro Jam, IHRA and NHRA divisional action, and the X-DRL’s rained-out Thunder Valley Madness in Bristol.
Cruz Pedregon became the first two-time winner in the Funny Car category in 2013 by racing to the victory Sunday at the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA SpringNationals at Royal Purple Raceway.
He was joined by Bob Vandergriff Jr. (Top Fuel), Jason Line (Pro Stock), and Hector Arana Jr. (Pro Stock Motorcycle).
In Nitro Jam’s long-awaited return to Bradenton the stars of Nitro Jam put on an amazing finale Saturday at the Bradenton Nitro Jam presented by CarSafe, Metro PCS and Southern Ford Dealers led by Peter Gallen who won a thrilling finale in AMSOIL Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car.

Meyer Back On Top in TA/D, Three In A Row For Pomponio In TA/FC
With victories at the Lucas Oil Series event at Virginia Motorsports Park, Randy Meyer got back in the Top Alcohol Dragster winner’s circle after a year of final-round futility and Dan Pomponio continued his amazing success in Top Alcohol Funny Car to take over the national points lead.
The weather in the Bluegrass State was pleasant as racers and spectators filtered through the gates at US-60 Dragway in Hardinsburg, Kentucky recently for the 2nd Annual Gene Gray Memorial Race. The Outlaw 10.5 race, promoted by Tim Gray, was organized in honor of his late cousin Gene Gray.

Taylor Lastor claimed the $10,000 winners prize after he beat out Brad Medlock and a field of all-comers from the No. 1 qualifying position in the North Star Dragway’s first EX275 race over the weekend.
