The Shakedown Nationals, the brainchild of David Hance of New York Motorsports and one of doorslammer drag racing’s preeminent events, returns to historic Raceway Park in Englishtown for the 10th year, and once again, some of the heaviest hitters in the sport are expected to to be on hand to battle it out.
J.R. Webb of St. Albans, West Va., Kenny Floyd of Charlotte and Howard Brewer of Bennett claimed individual titles Sunday before a car fire abruptly ended the 17th annual Holcomb Motorsports Outlaw Civil Wars drag race at Steve Earwood’s Rockingham Dragway.

Last weekend the 75-80 Dragway hosted the second of its Run What Ya Brung races for the year with a variety of heads-up and index racing classes on the program, headlined by Outlaw 10.5 with an onslaught of locals gunning for the top spot, along with Outlaw Drag Radial and Real Street for the fans delight.
The Pritchett brothers, Nate and Adam, rolled back into Milan Dragway with their Ultimate Outlaw Shootout Series and recorded a best-ever car count and attendance for their events. Several hundred cars poured in for the big race that hosted the Outlaw Drag Radial/Limited Street, X275, and Ultra Street.
