The venerable duo of Steve Petty and Tim Lynch wasted little time putting their brand new Corvette ZR1 in victory lane, grabbing the Outlaw 10.5 Wally at the inaugural NHRA Unleashed event in Commerce, GA in just its second outing.
The ADRL is about to be invaded by another new Mustang that has been outfitted with the power plant of choice – a Brad Anderson Hemi. Anyone who has followed the ADRL knows that BAE Hemi’s with a screw blower make noise on the track and in the record books which has been exemplified by Chuck Ulsch. Now Dan Millen is the next racer to try his luck with the screw blower.

Whenever the factory rolls out a new body style for a car anywhere near as popular for the Mustang, there’s always that crowd looking to go after the ‘first to do…’ honors. Whether it be the first to bust into the 10’s in street legal trim or be the fastest guy using that particular body, it’s a neat little accomplishment. Now, that may not be the case in this ‘10 Mustang build for the Outlaw 10.5 class, it’s certainly one of the first ‘10 Mustangs going with a build this extreme.
Anthony New has acquired a fox body Mustang that is being updated and receiving the finishing touches for competition on the ORSCA Outlaw 10.5 trail. Power will come from the same engine as his former ‘88 Mustang, a Proline-built 540-cid BBC with twin turbochargers.

It appears that the outlaw racing bug has bitten the Aussies as there is a flourish of cars being built and headed to the tracks in Australia. Domenic Luppino’s Mustang is one of them and has been as fast a 7.04@202mph.
Dave Murphy kicked off his racing career in the Pro-Street scene, though after some time he was ready to change things up with an all new car. Trading off his ‘56 Chevy for this turbo small block Mustang that’s already been proven to go low 7’s in the quarter at almost 200mph, Dave hopes to get used to the whole new world and become an Outlaw 10.5 contender in the future.
