Outlaw 10.5 Coverage

Just when you think the drag racing season was over, Bradenton Motorsports gets in the last hurrah with the last major heads up drag race of the year at the Snowbird Nationals. With all the popular heads up racing classes all in one place, plan for a snow-free race weekend in Bradenton, Florida!


It’s that time of the year when the weather turns cold in Las Vegas, but the track heats up for some of the fastest door slammers in the country to race at the Street Car Super Nationals. Keep it tuned to DRAGZINE all weekend for updates and photos from Vegas.


With the ORTC race in Georgia last weekend, the racers move further south to the birth place of the ORTC, Bradenton Motorsports Park. This weekend though is Bradenton’s version of the race called the ORDC. Check back to Dragzine all weekend for the latest updates from Bradenton.

It’s early October in New Jersey, and that can only mean it’s time for 9th running of the popular Shakedown at E’Town at Raceway Park in Englishtown. We’ve got a weekend chocked full of exciting heads-up and index racing on tap, and you won’t want to miss a minute of our same day coverage, right here on DRAGZINE!


This year will mark the second annual event for the infamous Yellow Bullet Nationals held at Cecil County Dragway in Maryland. Pro classes include OL 10.5, Drag Radial, X275 and 8.50 Index. 10.00 and 11.50 index are also on the bill. Keep tuned to Dragzine for updates through the entire weekend.


It is the first race of the PSCA season right here in sunny southern California. The initial season opener was suppose to happen in Las Vegas, though it was canceled due to weather. This race will not have the Pro Street class in attendance as local noise ordinance laws has forced Fontana to build a sound wall.


Welcome to South Georgia Motorsports Park for Redemption, The Night the Lights Went out in Georgia II. Classes for this event include PTC Radial vs. the World where anything goes as long as you have a converter driven transmission and 315 Drag Radials or a True 10.5 tire. The big question – can Wolfe stay on top?

During this time every year Bradenton Motorsports Park holds their Snowbird Nationals drag race and Night of Fire. This event will be action packed with racing from Outlaw Pro Mod, Outlaw 10.5, Outlaw Radial, X275, and more. Keep it tuned to DRAGZINE all day Saturday and Sunday for updates.


The Street Car Super Nationals, now in its sixth year, brings the 2010 drag racing season to a close with the biggest doorslammer event West of the Mississippi. The Strip at Las Vegas Motorsports park is playing host this weekend to teams from across the United States this weekend, and we’ve got all the action.


The biggest door car race of the entire year happens this weekend in Orlando. The World Street Nationals license plates is something you see on cars around the United States as a souvenir that they participated at this huge race. Come back to DRAGZINE all weekend as well will be bringing you all the action.


We are on site at SGMP in Cecil Georgia for the Radial Revolution and the pits are filling up fast. This race has new classes including Outlaw 10.5 and Outlaw 8.5. Thursday will be testing all day then qualifying is Friday and Saturday with Sunday eliminations. Check back all weekend.


This weekend marks the inaugural Outlaw Drag Racing Championship at Bradenton Motorsports Park down in Sunny Florida. We have several classes of cars from 7.50 index to Outlaw 10.5 and the insane Open Outlaw blown injected altereds and roadsters on site. Check back for live updates all weekend.


This weekends Holley LS Fest kicked off on Friday afternoon following months of anticipation in the LS community,with the featured drag racing portion of the event, taking place on the fabled Beech Bend Raceway Park quarter mile with classes ranging from mild to wild.

In the semifinal round of Outlaw 10.5 action on Saturday evening at the Ultimate Outlaw Shootout Series event at Milan Dragway, Jason Enos lost control of his beautiful and popular 1967 Mustang, slamming nearly head on into the guardrail just beyond the eighth mile finish stripe at a high rate of speed and causing extensive damage.


The venerable duo of Steve Petty and Tim Lynch wasted little time putting their brand new Corvette ZR1 in victory lane, grabbing the Outlaw 10.5 Wally at the inaugural NHRA Unleashed event in Commerce, GA in just its second outing.


The ADRL is about to be invaded by another new Mustang that has been outfitted with the power plant of choice – a Brad Anderson Hemi. Anyone who has followed the ADRL knows that BAE Hemi’s with a screw blower make noise on the track and in the record books which has been exemplified by Chuck Ulsch. Now Dan Millen is the next racer to try his luck with the screw blower.


Come on inside for a look at a car that has recently been brought to our attention. A mere few hours ago this machine rolled out the door of the chassis shop for the first time and most likely will be heading to a track near you very soon. Tim Lynch and Steve Petty have had a stranglehold on the Outlaw 10.5 competition with their big inch twin turbo Mustang over the years, but now they’re bringing an all new car to the table after selling their old record-setter to the Kasper race team. Now it’s time for a new ride, in the form of a Corvette Z06 built with 670 C.I, some monstrous 94mm turbochargers..

Gary White, at the controls of the Team Titan Scion, unleashed on the Extreme 10.5 field last weekend in Virginia, blasting out four laps in the 3-second zone to practically dominate the field and grab the win. Check out the video inside


Jason Enos made some long-awaited test hits with his gorgeous 1967 Mustang at New England Dragway last weekend, running a 6.86 and following it up with a quicker 6.76 in the first three passes with the big block, twin-turbocharged ride.


Today we take a look at some of the wildest rides in the history of Outlaw 10.5 Racing. We know we could never cover them all but these are surely some memorable moments of the sport. From huge wheel stands to out of control crashes we have it covered, so come on in and check them out.


Whenever the factory rolls out a new body style for a car anywhere near as popular for the Mustang, there’s always that crowd looking to go after the ‘first to do…’ honors. Whether it be the first to bust into the 10′s in street legal trim or be the fastest guy using that particular body, it’s a neat little accomplishment. Now, that may not be the case in this ’10 Mustang build for the Outlaw 10.5 class, it’s certainly one of the first ’10 Mustangs going with a build this extreme.


Anthony New has acquired a fox body Mustang that is being updated and receiving the finishing touches for competition on the ORSCA Outlaw 10.5 trail. Power will come from the same engine as his former ’88 Mustang, a Proline-built 540-cid BBC with twin turbochargers.


One way or another, everyone is always trying to step up their program. Whether it be building an all new car or revamping what you’ve got, it takes lots of money and perseverance to continue to go after it year after year. For Greg Blevins Jr, the necessary step he felt was needed to work his way to the top was a switch from single to twin turbos on his Outlaw 10.5 Mustang.


The land down under has brought us so many racers and race cars over the years that caught the eye of the general public. It appears that the outlaw racing bug has bitten the Aussies as there is a flourish of cars being built and headed to the tracks in Australia. Domenic Luppino’s Mustang is one of them and has been as fast a 7.04@202mph.
