Keith Berry and his ’02 Corvette have made some impressive accomplishments over the past couple years racing wherever the rules would let them. From ORSCA Modified Street, to the LSX shootout and even a couple ORTC races, Berry has shown us all that the Corvette’s factory IRS can be manipulated in such a way to provide some awesome 1320 performance.
The cliche “All good things must come to an end,” saying seems to be fitting for Berry and crew chief Ryan Rakestraw, as we recently found his record setting Z06 up for sale on RacingJunk.
The car is currently being sold with everything minus the motor for a sum of $50,000 – though Berry tells us that if someone makes a serious offer for the entire car turn-key they’ll certainly consider it. Holding the world record for an IRS-equipped Corvette in the 1/8th and 1/4 mile at 5.31 and 8.37 respectively, it’s certainly got some sweet selling points. Heck, the car is even setup to run either a carb or fuel injection setup with the ability to change setups per rules on the fly, as Keith needed to do a couple times.
Keeping true to the “stock suspension” limitations, out back is an ’09 ZR1 rear-end with some QA1 double adjustable coil-over shocks. Berry also assures us that spares are included with the sale. The transmission setup is a TH400 built by RPM with a billet valve body and your choice of either a TCI or Neal Chance torque converter. On the engine side of things, it’s setup for a nitrous’ed 427″ LSX powerplant, and everything needed to plug and play with a similar engine is included from the FAST fuel injection to the custom headers, exhaust and nitrous progressive controllers. Anyone that’s been lucky enough to see this car in action first hand knows the killer unique exhaust note that it puts out thanks to this exhaust setup.
If anyone’s looking to buy Keith’s rad ride, give his crew chief Ryan Rakestraw a ring at 678-758-4275 for more info.
