If you’ve been a reader of Dragzine for any length of time, you know that we’ve got quite a thing for Englishman Andy Frost’s six-second, 200 mph Vauxhall packing a big block twin-turbo engine combo that the now internationally famous Frost drives around on the streets of his native England with regularity. Of course, we’re into pretty much any car that makes that kind of power, looks that good, and isn’t a trailer queen.
As Frost’s exploits with his killer machine have garnered more universal attention, sponsors have been lining up to be a part of his venture, and one of the latest to sign on with the Red Victor Racing team is Turbosmart USA, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of turbocharging components, including wastegates, blow-off valves, bypass valves, boost controllers, fuel pressure regulators, and a whole lot more.
Thanks to this new partnership between Frost and Turbosmart, the Red Victor 3 Vauxhall will now be Turbosmart-equipped when the 2013 campaign begins. Frost’s 1972 VX4/90 FD VXR Spec machine, powered by a 539 cubic inch V8 will feature Turbosmart’s Power-Gate 60 external wastegates and the Race Port atmospheric BOV assisting in the boost department of this 3,000-plus horsepower beast.
“We’re really excited about this partnership,” said Turbosmart USA General Manager, Marty Staggs. “The Red Victor Racing team is all about winning. These principles are very much in line with Turbosmart’s philosophy.”
“We’ve got some exciting times ahead of us,” said Red Victor Racing’s Andy Frost, “and we’re really happy to have Turbosmart backing us in our endeavors. We look forward to working with them in 2013 and beyond.”
The Red Victor 3 has been as quick as 6.59 seconds at 220 mph, making it the quickest and fastest street-legal and street-driven car in the world. Frost campaigns the car in the MSA/FIA European Pro Mod Championship in Europe, and has hinted at a visit to United States in 2014 to tackle the Hot Rod Drag Week crown.
