This weekend’s LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals in Dallas will have a little added international flare, as Swedish racer Adam Flamholc and the Flamholc Motorsports team make their debut in the ADRL’s Pro Modified category at the season-ending event at the Texas Motorplex.
Flamholc, from Malmo, Sweden, competes on the FIA European Drag Racing Series tour, and after concluding a season in which he and his team finished fourth in the Pro Modified standings, their 1967 Camaro was packaged up in a shipping container and shipped to Miami. The car arrived at customs on October 6 and was met by Flamholc and the rest of the team last week. After decking out their new rig and making final preparations, the team headed to the Dallas Raceway this week to shake down the 14-percent overdrive combination (rules allow for 20-percent in Europe) before driving over to the Motorplex. After a series of aborted hits on Wednesday, Flamholc recorded a 4.078 at 178 MPH earlier this afternoon.
“I’m very excited about racing in the ADRL! everyone I’ve talked to says its really amazing,” said Flamholc. After the LenMar World Finals in Dallas, the Flamholc team will travel another 1,200-plus miles further from home to the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as Flamholc competes in the Get Screened America ProMod Series season finale at the Big O Tires NHRA Nationals. Flamholc competed stateside in the NHRA in 2009 and again in 2010, and appeared on the IHRA trail, as well.
