Neal Chance Racing Converters customers have been tearing it up at drag strips around the world this summer, snatching high-profile race victories and toppling performance barriers that continues a long-time trend for the Kansas-based torque converter manufacturer.

Australian Jarrod Wood gave Neal Chance another boost down under in early September, when he marched into the record books with the first three-second run ever outside of the United States in his big-block, twin-turbo Ford Mustang outfitted with a half billet aluminum and half billet titanium custom turbo converter with NCRC’s BB and XT options. Wood did the deed with a 3.99 at 196 mph at the Willowbank Raceway’s Radial Riot.

PDRA Pro Nitrous heavy hitters Tommy Franklin and Jason Harris, who have carried the Neal Chance banner into victory circle and to world championships many times previously, waged another of their epic all-NCRC final rounds at the recent Drag Wars event at GALOT Motorsports Park in North Carolina, where Franklin notched another, 3.70 to 3.82, to draw himself closer to Harris, the leader in the points standings.

Harris and Franklin both run NCRC’s all billet aluminum lock-up bolt-together converter.

Perhaps the most significant triumph of late, NHRA Pro Modified racer Steve Jackson came out of nowhere from the bottom of the qualifying order to win the world’s most prestigious drag race, the NHRA U.S. Nationals, driving his Shadow 2.0 supercharger Camaro backed by a quarter-mile-specific billet aluminum blower bolt-together converter. Jackson, who struggled for much of the summer after losing his Bahrain 1 Camaro in a crash, qualified on the final attempt and marched through eliminations to defeat Jose Gonzalez in the finale. Proving it was no fluke, he went to St. Louis two  weeks later and won again at the NHRA Midwest Nationals, propelling him up to third in the standings.

Another small-tire standout, Maryland’s Mick Decker III, became the first Outlaw 10,5 racer into the 3.80s in his supercharged Corvette propelled by an all-billet aluminum NXS bolt-together converter. Decker wasted little time knocking down another barrier, pushing his way through the mid- to low-3.80s before cranking out a stunning 3.78 at 197 mph at Cecil County Dragway’s Outlaw Street Car Shootout in late September.

Then, just days ago, NHRA Pro Stock star Alex Laughlin, a relative newcomers to the Radial versus The World ranks, powered his Frankie Taylor-tuned, supercharged Corvette to a runner-up finish at No Mercy at South Georgia Motorsports Park, clocking 3.7-second runs along the way to his career-best performance on radials.

Laughlin, Decker, and company have been joined by a host of other Neal Chance racers far and wide in victory, and they certainly won’t be the last to taste success this season as things wind a fast and exciting conclusion.
