Sick Michigan Miles Returns With Over 200 Entrants

Sick Michigan Miles Presented By Driven Racing Oil is set to bring high-horsepower excitement and scenic cruising to the Great Lakes State, as more than 200 of the country’s fastest street-legal vehicles prepare to compete in a grueling drag-and-drive challenge across Michigan August 10-17.

The week-long event kicks off at the newly renovated Milan Dragway and will travel through Mid-Michigan Motorplex, Northern Michigan Dragway, and Ubly Dragway, before returning to Milan. This finale coincides with a bucket-list stop at the Woodward Dream Cruise, the world’s largest one-day car event, where the race cars will join thousands of enthusiasts in celebrating American automotive culture.

Racers will compete over an eighth-mile distance at each track, with top contenders expected to post elapsed times in the four-second range. The competition format requires participants to submit a verified time slip from each race day. The driver with the lowest average time across all five racing days will be crowned Sick Michigan Miles Champion.

There are some big names in the drag-and-drive game coming to Sick Michigan Miles. Here are just a few of the notable racers who will take on this week-long challenge.

  • Adam Hodson: winner of Back To The Streets
  • Tom McGilton: Rocky Mountain Race Week champion
  • Frank Webb: former Sick Summer Pro Street titleholder
  • Evan Uerkwitz:  known for his radical Malibu builds
  • Leticia Hughes: a record-holding Mustang racer

In addition to racing, drivers must complete over 1,000 miles of street driving between tracks, stopping at scenic and historic Michigan landmarks such as the Silver Lake Sand Dunes and Mackinac Bridge. These routes test not only the speed but also the reliability of the race cars, all of which must remain street legal throughout the event.

Spectator tickets are now available, including Sick Ward VIP passes that offer exclusive access and week-long benefits. Fans can save $5 by purchasing tickets online, and children 12 and under are admitted free—making it an accessible motorsports experience for families.

Tom Bailey, founder of Sick The Magazine and Michigan native, is ready to kick off this high-horsepower tour of his home state.

“The racing is taken seriously, but a lot of people have entered Sick Michigan Miles purely to explore the region,” he said. “We’ll be driving through a lot of small towns, exploring the coasts, and showing people what Michigan is all about. The drag-and-drive experience goes well beyond just the track time and into creating lifelong memories for everyone at the event.”
