Nothing beats the summer heat like fast cars. In a YouTube video recently posted, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering puts its new Launch Control with Timing Retard prototype to the test. The result is a Camaro that pushes into the nine second range for the quarter mile.

The Camaro, a 1998 with a 403 CI LS2 with a 250-shot direct port nitrous system, is owned by Lingenfelter’s Ryan Gledhill. A camera is mounted inside the Camaro to capture the race from right behind the driver. The quarter-mile pass is also recorded from outside of the Camaro with an angle between the burnout box and the drag racing tree.

In the video, you can see the Launch Control system being utilized at the light. With a slight timing delay, the Camaro launches strong off the light with the new prototype to achieve a 1.420-second 60-foot time. The car powers down the track to break the beams at 138 MPH to achieve a quarter-mile time of just 9.941 seconds. While the Camaro is a beast of a car to begin with, from the camera angle in the car you can really see how this new system helps launch the car properly to help it achieve this amazing run time.
