As one of the leaders in high-performance engine valves and valvetrain components, Ferrea Racing Components has over 45 years of manufacturing experience in promoting airflow into and out of an engine. In this video, we get an opportunity to check out some of the latest and greatest manufacturing techniques for engine valves, retainers, keepers, and other valvetrain parts.
Not only do we get a look into the inner workings of Ferrea’s Fort Lauderdale facility, we also hear from a number of their employees on what makes the company tick. For example, the majority of the racing components are manufactured in quantities as small as one single piece in the Fort Lauderdale facility, but there are also large-run jobs that take place in the company’s original facility in Argentina.
The company is on a constant quest to improve manufacturing techniques and research and development, and to that end there is a constant investment in new machinery and computer software to achieve the end goal.
They don’t just produce valvetrain parts for automotive engines, but combustion engines of all types. They also discuss how their research and development work with OEM companies and racers in high-level race series impacts the products they construct for an enthusiast-level end-user.
If you’re a gearhead that likes looking at cool manufacturing techniques, there’s a little something here in the video for you – plenty of footage of CNC machines doing their thing, making raw materials into parts that really look too nice to be tucked away in the never-to-be-seen-again confines of your engine.
Also, Ferrea has a number of videos on the construction of many of their valvetrain pieces – just check out their YouTube channel. For more information on the complete line of Ferrea Racing Components products, check out their website.
