We checked out Stand 21 and their made-to-measure race wear. They’ve been in business for decades and are a leader in keeping race car drivers alive with protective garments.

To minimize the risk of damage to the cerebral vertebrae, the “Lid Lifter” has black straps then when pulled together outward helps remove the driver’s helmut.

They also showed us new gloves that were lightweight, breathable and flame retardant. They look really cool too. An amazing amount or work goes into making these intricate garments that protects a drivers fingers, yet allows tactile sensations to pass through the material.
