The 2024 NHRA Mission Food Series was one for the ages with plenty of action in each of the professional categories. You can expect more of the same in 2025 with the top stars in the series gearing up for a big season. We sat down with Josh Hart, Buddy Hull, Joe Castello, and Chris King to talk nitro, and what to expect in 2025.
Top Fuel racer Josh Hart will be the first one to tell you his 2024 season was disappointing. If it could go wrong, it went wrong for the Florida native’s team. Hart is a fighter, and he pushed hard to end the season on a high note. In our conversation with Hart, we learned he’s got big plans in place for 2025, and he’s ready to kick things off at the SCAG Pro Superstar Shootout in February.
Buddy Hull has the soul of a racer who is willing to do whatever it takes to make another trip down the track. In 2024, Hull stepped into the Jim Dunn Racing nitro Funny Car, and embraced the role of driver over driver and team owner. Hull believes that Jim Dunn Racing has put the pieces into place to have a breakout season in 2025. The plan for Hull and Jim Dunn Racing is to finish assembling its newly updated Funny Car for the first race of 2025.
Chris King is the latest in a long line of independent racers who’ve worked hard to get their shot at the nitro big show. King, a Chicago firefighter, has assembled a team of volunteers that go racing for the love of the sport, but are also ready to start turning on some win lights. The strides that King and his team made with their program in 2024 has set the table for a successful 2025.
