Official Release:
New Crane Cams Camshaft Lobe Profile Catalog
Crane Cams has released its latest edition of the Cam Lobe Profile catalog, part number PP1112A. The catalog is now available directly from Crane Cams, or our worldwide network of distributors and dealers. Over 800 new profiles have been added to this listing, with applications for virtually every venue of motorsports.
Whether it’s for street performance or supercharged fuel applications, there are new lobe shapes available today. Custom ground camshafts have been a major factor in Crane’s heritage and success, with the ability to service our customers’ specialized needs continuing today. There’s a new tutorial section explaining the effects of tappet diameter, lobe size, and follower wheel diameter. Primary lobe types are segmented into hydraulic flat tappet, hydraulic rollers, mechanical flat tappet, and mechanical rollers. Each of these basic groups are then separated into unique lobe design families, with design characteristics ranging from long term conservative usage, to aggressive maximum power output.
We’ve also defined application and engine specific series, with overhead camshaft and translating follower sections for the latest powerplants.
The discriminating engine builder and hard-core enthusiast can use these listings and then consult with our technical staff to produce a custom cam grind, designed specifically for his engine and application.
