The New Dodge Charger Is Revealed And Will Have A Gas Engine Option

There were plenty of rumors and alleged pictures floating around of the new Dodge Charger, but the company has now formally announced what will be coming to dealerships this year. The Charger is going to be released in both EV and internal combustion engine formats as well.

While we’re not getting a HEMI-powered Charger, the Dodge Charger Daytona variants are going to be available with 670 horsepower on tap. Dodge claims the Charger Daytona will go 0-60 in just 3.3 seconds and cover the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds. Dodge is basing these new Chargers on its STLA Large platform, allowing both EV and ICE powertrains to be used.

The electric Charger will have multiple driving modes available to owners. You’ll be able to choose from Auto, Eco, Sport, Wet/Show, Track, and Drag modes. The race options will allow you to use things like line lock, launch control, and race prep for the battery. Clearly, Dodge is taking the performance side of its EV vehicles seriously.

If you want a Dodge Charger that feeds on gasoline you’ll have to wait until 2025, but you’ll be handsomely rewarded. The ICE Dodge Charger SIXPACK H.O. will crank out 550 horsepower, while the Charger SIXPACK S.O. will have 420 horsepower on tap. These cars will be powered by Dodge’s 3.0-liter Twin Turbo inline six-cylinder Hurricane engine platform.

All of the Dodge Charger variants are going to have fresh styling both inside and out when they hit the showroom floor. Dodge didn’t want to just put a reheated version of the old Charger out there, they wanted some fresh tastes on the menu for its customers.
