ORTC Redemption SGMP 2011 Same Day Coverage

Well the order of the morning is rain here at SGMP. We have some showers around the area and we will keep you updated on when we will be running cars. The big news to far is Kevis Fiscus’ 4.33 @ 180 pass setting a new record for Drag Radial. Wolfe is close behind with a 4.38 and is installing some coil over shocks this morning to try and control tire shake issues he is having down track.

Special thanks to our event coverage sponsor Mickey Thompson.  Check out their great line of wheels and tires at www.mickeythompsontires.com

You can see the track is quite wet so the staff will be very busy getting things ready.

This car may look familliar to some of you, it's the Vader Mustang owned and driven by Eric McMillion. He was a later arrival and they are running tech in the staging lanes this morning. The single turbo car will be running X275 this weekend.

"Mustang" Mike Modeste made the trip down to represent for Team North.

Ricky Pennington drives this clean Chevelle owned by Tommy Bills from Birmingham Alabama. He ran a 5.30 yesterda which is the best the car has been to date. They run 4-5 times a year and mostly index race so this is a little new for them and excited to go faster today.

Limited Street racer Tommy Rainer is here this weekend and has been struggling with the new car since he brought it out. He hopes for some good runs today.

I have had several requests for info and pics of Don Burton's new combo and caught up with him in tech this morning. He made the switch from running a nitrous combo in NMRA SSO to a 600 ci. BBF with twin F2-R Prochargers and will be running Radial vs the World this weekend. There no passes on it yet, just start and tested the trans brake and loaded up for the ride to SGMP.

Because of the rain they are going to run some index cars down the track to put some rubber down. After that the run order will be Holley No Boost, Billet Atomizer Racing Injectors Ultimate Street, TCI Outlaw Radial, VP Race Fuels Outlaw 275 vs 28 x 10.5,  TRZ Motorsports X 275 and PTC Radial vs the World.

Jeff Cooner is here with his Pressurized Solutions Mustang. Yes he bolted on a pair of drag radials too.

Steve Jackson had a stuck injector and they were fixing that all up earlier.

The Pirez crew is here with two cars, Sr. in No Boost and Jr. in X275

Buck Walkers car is fresh out of Dan Neumann's shop for repairs and upgrades. They didn't make and killler runs yet but have no issues either.

This 75 Duster belongs to Melvin Pheifer from Biloxi Mississippi is here running 5.70 index with a naturally aspirated 439 cubic inch small block Mopar built by Ryan Johnson.
