- Greg – GMRACING355 is here form southern New Jersey to run the Super Street class this weekend with his Chevy Nova. He runs low 11’s to high 10’s and is the first person photographed here at the 2011 YB Nats.
- Here this morning at Cecil County Dragway, the weather today is cloudy with a temp of 73 right now.
- Kevin Lampier is the track starter, he will be busy busy this weekend.
- Scotty Gaudagno was here testing yesterday and broke the pinion on the first hit, taking out the third member as well. Fixing it was no problem, he is here on Drag Radials this weekend instead of the normal 10.5 “W” or the true tens allowed in a Limited Street class
- Joe Alagna won 8.50 index here last year but bent a valve testing yesterday after overreving the engine to 9200 RPM. The engine builder Big Sal is here on site to make repairs, and they are pulling the motor with a hoist on loan from Scotty G. They should be fixed up for Saturday.
- This Mustang is driven by Eric Kenward, owner of Eric Automotive from Vero Beach, Florida.
- Will Stevenson, former Drag Radial ORTC winner. He has made some changes to the car, sold the bruno and back to a powerglide based 2 speed.
- Former Orlando Street Nationals Drag Radial winner Mel Nelson.

- Team Corrupt in the house, while not pretty Alex Vrettos freshly refurbished ride is here and ready for battle.
- Paul Major is on the lot with his Corvette to run Drag Radial, he just made a run in the 4.6 zone, so far so good.
- Plent of shirts and other items for sale at the X275 tent. I’m sure those little glasses with get some use this weekend, after hours of course.
- Outlaw Jr. Dragsters will also be running here this weekend. This one is up from Orlando, Florida and driven by Matt Villante. They have two cars with the team, both sporting Autism Awareness graphics. There should be 13 or so cars here for the class.
- Quite a few racers made the trip up from Florida, including Jimmy Bradshaw and his Blown hemi Dart, Enrique Pirez, Ruben Tetshovelli, Eric Kenward, Kevin Fiscus, Scotty Gaudagno and Will Stevenson im sure there are others I’m missing, we can safely say Florida is well represented for sure.
- The track personell woked hard this morning prepping the trak so we could start on time at 10 AM.
- Tommy Deez has this sweet twin turbo 600 ci. BBC built by Lorenzo’s and tuned by Steve Petty. The truck was originally built by the late Leo Barnaby and rebuilt by K&K Race Cars after hitting the wall at last years Shakedown at E-Town. Tommy is from Philly and has been here testing since Wednesday.
- He lost one leg while moving heavy equipment and has a custom hand brake “machete” in the truck. He runs consistant 4.30’s and is looking to step up a little and keep the consistancy and go some rounds this weekend.
- Today I went the other direction to the front corner and I find one Doug Harris running Outlaw 10.5. The combo is an alcohol injected Chevy with Sonnys Chemi heads running twin 108 MM turbos hailing from New Jersey.
- Steve Drummand is here testing the Pro Mod and driving this Mustang owned by Steve Willingham in Drag Radial and built in house at Drummand Racecars. The car was recently updated with larger 91 MM turbos while keeping the trunk mount setup. Some weight was also removed lightening the car up to around 3500 pounds down from 3900. He is currently qualifies in 13th with a 5.80 @ 147.
- Dean Marinis is the top car in X275 with only 4 runs on radials. Marinis is from Whitestone, New York and is trying his hand at class racing with this former grudge car.
- Qualifying runs started at 9 AM with Super Street. The first pair down was a mix of old and new school muscle, just how we like it.
- Top Sportsman would have five rounds of racing with number four and five qualifiers meeting in the final. Tom Fontana had the quicker car with a 6.78 dial and Mike Kaufman dialed at 6.93.with Fontana having the better reaction time throught the day between the two and a semi final bye as well, running just .001 over dial. Kaufman would get out first when it was needed with a .028 and fontana would break out trying to catch up in a tight race.
- Outlaw 10.5 had 27 cars show for eliminations this morning with Richard Sexton leading the field. Mo Hall would be his opponent in the final. Both drivers had singles in the first round with Hall struggling and Sexton laying down a 4.29 @ 173. He would slow slightly in a round two match with Charlie Dolbin but still advance to round three while Hall had his only good run of the day, taking out Michael Martin on a holeshot winning with a 4.38 to Martin’s 4.31.
- X275 brought 48 cars to first round wading through his opponents with consistanf 5.0 and 4.9 performance. Richie Stine didn’t have a great run in first round but advanced over Chris Ketler anyway then put up some 5.0’s himself. Bruder was tested in the semi against Pete “Vader” Harrell who put up a 5.04 @ 150 but was a bit late on the tree, falling to Bruder’s .018 4.89 @ 144 run. Stine was late as well vs. Ron Rhodes but a clean 4.98 @ 143 made up for it, sending him to the finals in Ricky Fox’s 90 Mustang in it’s first outing. The final had Stine late again with a .140 reaction, Bruder’s .037 put him in front where he pulled out a holeshot win with a 4.994 to Stines quicker 4.990.
- In the semis Jackson put a holeshot on Fiscus winning with a 4.52 @ 177 to the quicker 4.50 @ only 154, Fiscus must have lifted or lost power on the run. Vettros slowed as well to a 4.81 @ 148, still enough to get by Lambert’s .83. In the final Vettros would have his best run of the day with a 4.49 @ 176 and the only other car in the 4.40’s during eliminations as Jackson hazed the tires at 600 feet, slowing to a 4.53 @ only 163
