NMCA: Same Day Coverage on StreetMuscleMag. The NMCA made its inaugural visit to the Maryland International Raceway over the weekend, and bought the annual ShopHEMI.com Late Model Hemi Shootout along with it. Joe Dunne was able to pad his points lead in Pro Street as he defeated Alex Viscardi during a record-breaking weekend that included wins and all-time best performance by Mike Murillo in Super Street and Andy Manson in 275 Drag Radial. Jeff Colletta and Jamie Stanton also collected wins, as did Don Baskin, who doubled-up in both Pro Stock and Mean Street. ATI Performance’s JC Beattie Jr. took all the marbles in the Hemi showdown as he not only won the Unlimited category, but the King of the Hill runoff. For additional coverage, visit DragStory.

Spencer Massey scored his second straight win in Top Fuel as he downed points leader Del Worsham as the NHRA made its annual trek to famed Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown over the weekend. Mike Neff earned his second win of the year in Funny Car after opponent Cruz Pedregon. The Pro Stock finale had the same result, as Vincent Nobile handed Allen Johnson his first victory of the year. Matt Smith took Pro Stock Motorcycle honors, and Danny Rowe was the last driver standing in a record-shattering Pro Modified affair. Pro Mod Super Series: Event Recap here on DRAGZINE. Eddyville Raceway Park hosted the Inaugural event for the Chris Duncan Race Cars Pro Mod Super Series over the weekend. Randy Adler, famed for his long running Super Chevy career, took home the event win. Adler was able to defeat number one qualifier, “Fast” Eddie Rogers in the final round after Rogers shut off early in the run after staging his Corvette with low oil pressure.
IHRA Pro-Am Division 3: Todd Stredling took Top Dragster honors as the IHRA Division 3 visited US-131 Motorsports Park in Michigan over Will Crawford, while Glenn Butcher won a tight Top Sportsman final with Curt Fredrich, inching out a .010 margin victory. On Sunday. Donn Rhode was the Super Stock victor, and Clint Blezien, Chris Yates, Steve Mikus, and Lisa Marg all earned wins in their respective eliminators. IHRA Pro-Am Division 6: Don Thomas was the day one victor in Super Stock at the Division 6 meet at the Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, as he broke out by less than opponent Sheldon Erfle. The Stock Eliminator finale was much the same, as Ed Matiejewski won a double-breakout affair with Norman Lapointe. On Sunday, Paul Glandon won Top Sportsman over Pat McNally as both drivers were dead late. Rain put a halt on the racing acticities just before the Top Dragster final could be completed. IHRA Pro-Am Division 9: Shane Maddox took a double-breakout win in Top Dragster at the IHRA points meet at North Carolina’s Mooresville Dragway, defeating David Barr, while Dean Norton collected the Top Sportsman IronMan after opponent Mark Payne fouled in the final.
