Word from the Pits…
Dave Hance is obviously here and they are looking to be a major contender in the race on radials today. He is also here with his ADRL 57 Chevy turbo promo car and suspecting there will be good numbers with the air currently being 100 foot below sea level.
The Thompson racing crew was up and ready to go early in the AM. They brought thier bad looking rebodied 53 turbo promod vette. They are still trying to get a handle on the car and getting it to run well into the 3's. They are hoping to be campaigning more next year int eh ADRL cirucut and be a serious leader in the series.
David Demarco is out with some fresh paint on his twin turbo proline pwered GN. After making his first set of 6 second passes in super street trim he has loaded the car up and brought it out to try his luck at getting in the the 6.8x zone.
Paul Major made the trip up after laying down some serious numbers down at MIR yesterday to the likes of 6.86 @ 210 . They are looking to back those numbers up if not surpass them this weekend at Englishtown and do battle with Dave Hance to take the top honors.
Shannon Jenkins and crew are out to make a showing in Pro Nitrous class. The Al-Anabi crew is supported by 3 other cars who all came here to take home the money in their respective classes.
1st Round of Qualifying
Heavy Street
Lou Sciortino brought his 727 musi powered camaro out for Heavy street action. A nice wheelie to the 80' mark and some clean driving pushed this car to the 7.19 @ 193.88 mark to put him in the #3 spot.
James Sartori brought his big block camaro to fight for the top spot. A serious player in the heavy street world, James had soem issues at the start and went up in smoke almost instantly and he did not make the bump after the first session.
Drag Radial
In typical steve morris fashion the big wagon put the power down and the car went up to the sky. After peddeling it a bit and trying to drive through it , the run was aborted and he was sent to the bottom of the ladder.
As expected, Paul Major came to the race ready to go. After the first round he is sitting in the #1 spot with a 6.94 @ 220.51 with what looks like a lot left in the car. Well see what the air tonight and the , hopefully, tighter track will bring.
Hance brought the car out of the hole easy and laid on the power to put him in the #2 spot behind Major. Dave had some issues on the top end and lifted early, but was still enough to make an impressive run to lock down one of the top spots.
Outlaw 10.5
Tim lynch came out with guns a blazin on the first pass of the day. He has set the bar for teh day and the class at this point. He ran it out the back with a smooth 6.385 @ 230.76 to put a early lead on the pack.
Not to be far outdone, TJ Kasper is on Tim Lynch's heels. He made a clean pass to take the second spot behind his engine builder with a 6.392 @ 230.37. Its going to be a touch battle to make it anywhere near the top spots this weekend.
Tommy Ferrick brought the S-10 to the 10.5 fight and just slipped in the back of the feild with a 7.49 @ 170.36. He going to need a little more to keep it in the field, but they should be back for solid run later.
Scotty G has his camaro out represnting nitrous powered cars in a boost dominated class. He had a strong run and the big block powered car ran through the top end at 7.05 @ 159.34
Mountain Motor Pro Stocks
Pete Berner brought his new 09 GXP to run with the Mountain Motor Pro Stocks. And he got teh job done during the first round running a 6.253 @ 220.37 to put him in the top spot.

Bob Bertsch hung his Rislone mustang side to side for a 100' burnout. It seemed to help as the car went down straight as could be to a 6.379 @ 213.74 to clinch the #5 spot.
Blown Pro Mod
Brad Personett set the bar high in the first round of qualifying. His turbo camaro ran 5.841 @ 240.89 which put him over a tenth in front of the rest of the field.
