Friday Pit Notes

82-year old Willard Kinser made the relatively short trek here from central Kentucky with two very sharp looking race cars. At front is his 1998 C5 Corvette with a 589-inch BBC sporting twin Precision 91mm turbos with Big Stuff 3 injection. Willard ran a best of 5.73 in testing this morning, but says the car is capable of running well into the four's. The car at back is a Chevrolet Cobalt Super Stocker converted to a street-legal style car, with a 427 SBC with an F3 Procharger out front, and run as quick as 7.66 @ 180+ MPH.

Curtis Rhodes is here all the way Childersburg, VA with his 548-inch, roots-supercharged Camaro in the Outlaw 10.5 category.

Nick Yarber is here with a recently updated powerplant in his EZ Street Mustang, sporting a new aluminum block in the Pro Stock-style, 615-inch Ford that sports Ford Motorsports' "C" cylinder heads and motivated by a two-stage nitrous setup. Yarber has run as quick as 4.87 on the 295 Radial tire.

NMRA regular Bob Kurgan skipped competing in this weekends NMRA/NMCA event in Charlotte to join in the EZ Street fray here this weekend.

Brian Hicks has his sinister-looking twin turbo Dodge Challenger here competing in Outlaw 10.5

Several of the top teams in the Get Screened American Pro Mod Challenge are here as an exhibition portion of the show, as they gain valuable testing data while putting on a great show for the fans. Raymond Comisso's team was making some wholesale adjustments to his R2B2 '68 Camaro prior to this evenings qualifying session.
