Baer Brakes Posts $10,000 X275 Winners Purse At Holcomb Civil Wars

Want to know where you can see the biggest, baddest race of the year for the now-cult favorite X275 class? If so, you’ve got to think like a racer and chase the money, and thanks to the team at Baer Brakes, the Holcomb Motorsports Spring Outlaw Civil Wars XVII, to be held March 30-April 1 at the famed Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina can lay a legitimate claim to the title of the can’t-miss X275 race of the season.

Baer Brakes, among the industry leaders in high performance brake kits for street and off road vehicles, has gone all-in by posting a $10,000 winners purse for the stacked X275 class, which has undoubtedly gotten the attention of racers all up and down the east coast.

“Baer Brakes has some new drag racing brake kits that they want to get the word out about in the drag racing market, and they felt that this would be a perfect avenue for them to get the new product line some exposure,” explained Ken Holcomb.

A $10,000 winners purse represents one of, if not the highest winners purse all season long for X275. The Fall Outlaw Civil Wars at Rockingham last September drew roughly 40 cars, but thanks to the huge boost in the purse provided by Baer Brakes and from the calls that have come pouring into the Holcomb offices, Ken Holcomb believes they’ll have every hit of 75-80 cars – if not more – roll through the gates on March.

Details on the remainder of the purse structure have yet to be released, as the staff at Holcomb continue to negotiate with other sponsors to boost the payout on down the line. Said Holcomb, “We’re still working with other sponsors and associate sponsors to bring in additional money in all of the classes. Our races always pay really well.”
