Few companies have the reputation and history of performance like Edelbrock does. With roots dating back before World War II, Edelbrock has become nearly synonymous with performance in many racing circles. They are always looking to be on the cutting edge of technology, so it should be no surprise that they have taken to Ford’s new 5.0 liter V8 engine with extra gusto. They showed off an E-Force supercharger system for the 5.0 V8 back at the SEMA show, but it is only recently that we’ve learned how much power this supercharger system makes.

This dyno video from Edelbrock shows the E-Force supercharger system in action, and in addition to the sweet symphony of horsepower, this supercharged 5.0 made 600 horsepower at the flywheel. Not too shabby!

The video shows Edelbrock’s #1588 supercharger kit, combined with the #15820 pulley kit. The engineers revved the 5.0 engine all the way up to 7,200 RPM, and while they probably could have gone a bit farther, the kit still made very impressive power. The official numbers were 600.91 horsepower and 524 ft-lbs of torque at the flywheel. And that is only on 91 octane, that maximum allowable octane available at California gas stations. On 93 octane we’re sure they could squeeze out a few more ponies, and figuring for a 15% drivetrain loss, this kit should put down around 510 rear-wheel horsepower on 91 octane and around 450 ft-lbs of torque. And even if you don’t plan on supercharging your 5.0 anytime soon, this video has some very sweet engine revving making it well worth a second watch.
